I have received many requests from Bosniaks in recent years, asking about their relatives who served in Austro-Hungarian army during the WWI. They wanted to know which units they served, what happened to them, where are they buried etc.

The only institution that might have information about Bosniaks in Austro-Hungarian army during the WWI, is Vienna's Kriegsarchiv. Please, contact them by phone, fax, mail or email and they can help you. Here are contact details:

They are very friendly and will definitely let you know if they have required information. For one hour of work / research they will charge you 35 EUR. Please, note this will be charged even in the case they don't find any information.

Trebinje during First World War

Mosque in Trebinje during IWW. It looks like it was located inside military camp. It doesn't exist any more.

I bought a new book about Bosniaks during First World War. These two photos are from the book. I was truly amazed by photo collection and quality of the book and shocked by some gaps which could be avoided.

Vandalizem v Logu pod Mangartom

V noci s cetrtka, 13. novembra na petek, 14. novembra je neznani storilec (neznani storilci) oskrunili vojasko pokopalisce v Logu pod Mangartom. Ceprav je (so) v svojem pohodu poskodoval(i) vec spomenikov iz prve svetovne vojne na razlicnih lokacijah, so na pokopaliscu v Logu pod Mangartom z barvo poskodovali izkljucno muslimanske nagrobnike, ti. nisane. Zahvaljujoc hitri intervenciji Upravne enote Tolmin, zlasti g. Zdravku Likarju, so nisane ocistili v kratkem casu in sedaj so ponovno cisti.
